GER-JPN Field Robotics Exchange
Information & Networking Event (online)
December 1st & 2nd, 2026
Overview
The GER-JPN Field Robotics Exchange is a bilateral initiative by the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH) and the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). The event will be hosted virtually on December 1st and 2nd, 2026.

Germany and Japan share similar agricultural challenges – such as shrinking and aging workforces and environmental pressures – while simultaneously being global leaders in manufacturing. Startups act as the agile engines of the agricultural transformation through Field Robotics. This encompasses autonomous mobile robots developed for outdoor arable farming (and indoor farming). These systems navigate (semi-)independently to perform agricultural tasks such as sowing, mechanical or chemical weed control, fertilization, harvesting, or monitoring, often utilizing cameras and AI. Through cross-border collaboration and innovation transfer, both nations stand to benefit immensely.
This series is designed to connect leading German and Japanese startups and innovators in "Field Robotics" with established stakeholders in both nations, connecting them to the players in technology, finance, and business. Discover the latest field robotics solutions, share knowledge, and explore partnerships during two dedicated pitch and networking days.
